Moving on to the 200 Free, Megan Romano made her first showing in an 'A' final and finished 8th in 1:49.29. The win went to Kara Lynn Joyce (1:44.14). Club Wolverine was well represented in the final as Erik Vendt (1:36.49, 7th) and Davis Tarwater (1:36.53, 8th) also competed.Jessica Hardy turned her 1st place prelim showing into a finals win, hitting the wall in 58.74. Her time was just under a second off of Tara Kirk's American Record. In the men's race, Ryan Lochte nearly claimed his 4th gold of the meet. Mecklenburg's Mark Gangloff had other plans. He made it to the wall in 53.05, just ahead of Lochte's 53.27.

Club Wolverine put together a fantastic grand finale for the night in the 800y Free Relay. The foursome of Michael Phelps, Peter Vanderkaay, Davis Tarwater, and Chris DeJong all swam in the 'A' final of the 200y Free earlier in the night. When they came together for the relay, they shattered not only the American Record, but also the US Open Record. Both were newly set at the 2007 NCAA Championships. The new standard is 6:12.43. Kaitlin Sandeno contributed to the Club Wolverine women's relay, which finished second in 7:07.93.
